People of the internet: please join us in wishing Team Lord member "Bling" Liam Costello a happy birthday today!
Earlier this evening, here in Mexico City, we put the camera on him and sent him onstage for Cry of the Celts, the show's high-octane opening number (known internally to the troupe as "Run On"). We then had a second camera recording from upstage left. See if you can spot Liam wearing the camera harness!
You remember Liam from that viral wedding video a few months ago; he recently married fellow Team Lord member Katrina Costello, who plays Saoirse. And, like any good Lord of the Dance wedding, it had tons of Team Lord troupe members and alumni, along with a couple of fantastic dance numbers.
Liam's an incredibly nice guy. If you bumped into him at the pub, you'd have no idea you were standing next to one of the greatest Irish dancers in the world, who's in phenomenally better shape than most human beings. He's just a straightforward, down-to-Earth, unassuming guy.
Mexico City has been phenomenal for Lord of the Dance. From the massive crowds to the post-show meet-and-greets with local Irish dance schools, every night is utterly fantastic. And we still have more shows coming up here in Mexico, at Puebla, Guadalajara, and Querétaro. We absolutely love performing here.
We hope you enjoy this video. I was chatting with the promoters earlier this evening, and they agreed that there's just something jaw-dropping about seeing footage onstage *from the dancer's perspective as they're dancing.* No other dance show in the world, to my knowledge, does this. It's a completely new way of consuming this form of entertainment -- and Lord of the Dance got here first.
The dream continues. And it keeps getting better.
