People of the internet: please join us in wishing Team Lord lead dancer Fran Dunne a happy birthday today!
Fran started dancing at the age of eight at the Sean Eireann McMahon School of Irish Dancing, then shifted to the Doherty Academy later. Amongst the many (many) achievements she earned in the competition scene, she won three consecutive American Nationals titles.
Fran's greatest aspiration as a dancer was to turn pro, and after retiring from competition she joined Lord of the Dance. Her first performance in a lead role, as Morrighan, was opposite Michael Flatley during Dangerous Games' West End run.
Fran also heads up The Performance Project, a conditioning and coaching solution bridging the gap between the fitness industry and Irish dancing. Long story short: this is one of the finest Irish dance professionals in the world.
Happy birthday, Fran!
