The person leading Team Lord onstage in this photo is #LordOfTheDance Cathal Keaney.
Cathal, aside from being a qualified mechanical engineer who invented Portable Sprung Floors, is one of the greatest Irish dancers in the world. And every Wednesday, at 6pm in Ireland, he livestreams interactive Irish dance lessons here on LOTD social media -- for free.
Think about that for a moment: you can learn steps from the show *directly and interactively* from the Lord of the Dance.
Imagine if this had been around in 1996! What if you could have turned on your computer or your TV and learned directly from, say, the Nolan Brothers? Or John Carey? Bernadette Flynn? Gillian Norris?
That's exactly what we're doing today, with our amazing current troupe. To our knowledge, this sort of continuous live and interactive two-way communication between a major dance show and its audience is completely unprecedented. We're bringing #IrishDancing into the 21st century.
It's been half a year since the pandemic shut down live touring acts, so sometimes photos like this serve as a good reminder that Team Lord is composed of #IrishDance rock stars, capable of getting tens of thousands of people on their feet. And now they're in your living room for you to chat with, so that when you buy a ticket to see the live show, you have a personal connection with the stars onstage -- the same sort of emotional connection you formed to the classic stars from watching the VHS and DVD videos over and over again.
