We've dubbed this amazing Taiwan tour "The Impossible Tour", because Team Lord has achieved the impossible: no #IrishDance troupe in history has had to mount a stadium tour after nine months of inactivity, two weeks of hard quarantine, and barely two-and-a-half days of stage rehearsal, all with a troupe of over 90 performers, *half of which were new.*
This was an insane longshot. But we took it, because it was a golden opportunity to tour when no one else could, and Team Lord has never been afraid of hard work. The Impossible Tour is a gonfalon for the entire #IrishDancing world; Lord of the Dance is a beacon of hope in a year which has seen so much tragedy, and we invited everyone along for the ride -- live.
And what better place than Taiwan? Aside from the fact that it's one of the few countries in the world that has Covid under control, Team Lord has a long and wonderful history with this magical island. For all of the veteran performers in our company, returning to Taiwan is a treat; and for all of our newly-minted performers, they've gone on the adventure of a lifetime. And every All-Star troupe member now has some of the most unique bragging rights any Irish dancer could possibly have: they were members of The Impossible Tour. For one amazing moment in time, they were the only Irish dancers in the world on tour -- the best of the best, in Michael Flatley's billion-dollar dance show -- and they performed to sold-out stadiums as the world watched.
These are your sons and daughters. Your siblings. Your friends. Your classmates. They have worked harder than you can imagine. They earned their place onstage. And they have achieved The Impossible Tour.
