Michael, hearing from you that you are retiring from dancing gives me mixed feelings. I am sad because we won't have the chance to see you dance again at live shows and yet, at the same time, I'm happy for you because I know what a toll dancing takes on a person's body and you deserve a well earned rest and time to be with your family. I've been a fan since the late 90's when I first saw you in Riverdance, I was lucky enough to meet you after the Dublin LOTD shows in June of '98, I saw you dance in Celtic Tiger here in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada a few years ago, and I have followed your career faithfully from the beginning. Part of me hopes that you WILL dance again since the Dublin shows of '98 were THEN thought to be your last and Feet of Flames in London your Swan Song, but you DID come back to dance again. I also know that you know your body best and this time this will probably be your real retirement from dancing. Despite that, I know you will still be a creative force behind the scenes and will be inspiring others to dance and embrace their Irish heritage if they have a drop of Irish blood and even if they don't, to appreciate it and you'll be a promoter of Irish culture worldwide. May you have all the blessings you desire and the rewards you deserve. Enjoy life, Michael, and thank you for enriching mine for so many years. Sláinte!
